Property and Mortgage Fraud

This course will cover:

• risks in the property market, including the role of professional enablers and fraud typologies
• money laundering offences and suspicious activity reporting
• confidentiality and legal professional privilege
• risk management in property, including statutory requirements, the Digital Identity Standard and recommendations from the Conveyancing Quality Scheme

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

• understand the risks of fraud and money laundering in property transactions, particularly the risk of being used as a “professional enabler”
• recognise a range of different fraud typologies
• identify when it is necessary to submit a suspicious activity report
• mitigate the risk of property and mortgage fraud through policies, controls and procedures

This online course consists of the following elements:

• an interactive course presentation, with a variety of knowledge checks spaced throughout to test understanding of the material as the learner progresses
• an end-of-course assessment consisting of 10 questions

Assessment

In order to pass the assessment, you must achieve a pass mark of 70%.
