Jackie qualified and practised as a corporate solicitor at Taylor Wessing before moving to the North-West where she worked at two commercial firms, including Hammonds, where she specialised in advising on corporate acquisitions.   

Jackie has been teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate business and company law courses for over 18 years. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Education. Jackie is also a Certified Management and Business Educator.   

Jackie has co-authored a book with Kate Shepherd, Advising Effectively on the Employment Aspects of a Corporate Transaction – A Practical Guide for Junior Lawyers, published by Law Brief Publishing in 2021. Jackie has also held a number of board positions, including acting for six years as a trustee/director/vice chair and company secretary of a unique national charity.
