WIQS 2025 Update: Will Drafting

What this will cover

This course will cover:

  • who can take instructions for deathbed wills, the risks involved in preparing them and how to minimise these risks
  • wills for farming and business clients in light of the forthcoming changes to relief
  • wills for cohabiting couples, including ownership of property, availability of residence nil rate band and giving cohabitees a right to occupy or a life interest
Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • minimise the risks involved when preparing a will for a person who is critically ill
  • advise clients on the proposed changes to business and agricultural property relief and the implications for their wills
  • advise cohabiting couples on how best to leave their property

Assessment
