Understanding Mazur and the conduct of litigation – second online classroom (Tuesday 2 December 2025)

The High Court’s judgment in Mazur v Charles Russell Speechlys [2025] that non-authorised persons are not entitled to conduct litigation even if supervised by an authorised person is having ramifications across the English and Welsh legal sector. Shortly after the judgment, the Law Society of England and Wales hosted an online classroom to support members to understand the initial impact of the judgment. The recording of the classroom is now available, as well as answers to common practical, procedural and legal questions.

The Law Society has updated its guidance and published a new practice note to assist solicitors, law firms and legal businesses to ensure that only those authorised to do so carry on the conduct of litigation.

Learn more about the emerging practical implications of the Mazur judgment for the conduct of litigation, including answers to questions about the interpretation of the judgment, in this online classroom, which was recorded on Tuesday 2 December 2025.

Speakers:

  • Lucy Dennett, Head of Policy at the Law Society (Chair)
  • Juliet Oliver, Managing Director of Stratify

Enrol now to keep up to date with the Mazur judgment’s impact on the legal sector.
