This online classroom was delivered on Wednesday 12 July 2023.
Incorporating a panel discussion and Q&A, this online classroom is aimed at solicitors across all levels of PQE considering a return to practice after a career break. The guest panellists have all successfully returned to the profession following a career break. They will share advice and insider tips based on their lived experience of being back in the workplace as a returner, as well as how they successfully made the return.
This session will be facilitated by Husnara Begum, a former City lawyer turned career coach and business skills trainer.
The panellists include:
- Kristin Shelley – tax associate at international firm CMS
Kristin joined CMS in 2019 via the Reignite Academy, a returner programme which aims to encourage experienced lawyers to return to the City after a career break.
- Suzanne Jaconelli – private client solicitor at Ward Hadaway
Suzanne recently joined Ward Hadaway, having left the profession for a planned career break in 2010. During her career break, she started up a soft furnishings business.
- Anna Vroobel – associate solicitor at Irwin Mitchell
Anna is an associate solicitor at Irwin Mitchell, specialising is medical negligence. She recently returned from maternity leave. Anna is a member of the Law Society’s Disabled Solicitors Network.
