Essential skills for practice – Imposter syndrome and professional practice

These modules explore imposter syndrome in the legal profession. Research suggests that many professionals, including solicitors have an underlying fear that their accomplishments are due to luck, persistently doubting their skills and ability, despite this being contrary to evidence. These modules will explore the triggers of imposter syndrome and provide practical tools to tackle it. The training consists of three modules and references to further support:

  • Module 1 – What is imposter syndrome? (14mins)
  • Module 2 – What are the triggers of imposter syndrome? (19mins)
  • Module 3 – Practical strategies for dealing with imposter syndrome (12mins)

You can listen to each part as standalone training but will get the most out of the module if you listen to all the parts in order.

These reflective modules are aimed at newly qualified and aspiring solicitors but will also be helpful for solicitors at all levels of PQE.
