Dr Louise Smail is a specialist risk and safety consultant at Fisher Scoggins Waters LLP with many years’ experience in dealing with issues of corporate responsibility. She has acted as an expert witness and has worked as a principal consultant and director of two international consulting groups.  

Louise has extensive experience in the field of risk management, organisational resilience, health, safety, and environment law with a wide range of organisations, including local government, emergency services, the Cabinet Office, process and chemical industries, waste and construction. 

Louise has authored a number of books for Bloomsbury Professional, including, with Charlotte Waters and Michael Appleby of Fisher Scoggins Waters LLP, HSE and Environment Agency Prosecutions: The New Climate (2019) with foreword by the former Lord Chief Justice, The Right Honourable Lord Burnett of Maldon.
