Key Principles of Legal Professional Privilege for Practitioners

By the end of this online classroom, you will:  

• understand legal advice privilege – what it is, what the requirements are, what it covers and what it does not cover 
• be aware of litigation privilege – what it is, what the requirements are, what it covers and what it does not cover 
• appreciate how privilege can be lost or waived – including loss of confidentiality, when confidential information can be shared with third parties, waivers, limited waivers, collateral waivers, implied waivers and inadvertent disclosure  

Course format   

This training consists of the following elements:  

• an SME presentation with opportunities for interaction, delivered using Microsoft Teams  
• an optional MCQ assessment, to obtain a certificate of completion  

Assessment   

In order to pass the assessment, you must achieve a mark of 80%.  

Length   

The course will take 60 minutes to complete, excluding the assessment.
