Dr Benedict’s credentials
Ben is a legal academic with a focus on chancery law. He has specialisms in the areas of company, trusts and legal technology. He has published and spoken extensively in these areas, both as a jurist, and in policy work. Currently, he is working on a policy impact study looking at the effect of the SQE on undergraduate law providers, as well as a larger national and international initiative to create a model law and technology curriculum. He is also writing a study on the jurisprudential basis of recognising digital assets as a distinct category of property, as suggested by the Law Commission of England and Wales.
He holds a master’s degree in legal pedagogy from Downing College, University of Cambridge and a PhD in law and economics from the University of London. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
