Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act

The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 has been introduced to enhance the powers of law enforcement to address the complex issues surrounding the rapid evolvement of economic crime. Namely, there will be a change to the powers of the Companies Registrar to review company information and investigate and share data with law enforcement agencies. Legal teams therefore need to proactively stay ahead of these impending changes so that they can advise businesses on how to streamline their corporate structures, improve their corporate transparency and meet their new compliance obligations.

Our expert speaker, Anita Clifford, will guide you through the key changes to the Companies Registrar and the new obligations impacting company formation. This online classroom will also provide you with an overview of the new failure to prevent fraud offences and will examine the new powers granted to law enforcement agencies to investigate and seize crypto assets. You will also gain insights into the recent requirements in registering overseas entities.
