Essential skills for practice – Effective Self-management

This micro-learning module explores and provides tools for effective self-management. Self-management is a key skill essential for practice. The legal profession is fast paced and demanding, being able to self-manage is key to managing personal stress and increasing productivity. Self-management helps you to regulate your behaviours and emotions in a productive way. This module, aimed at newly qualified and aspiring solicitors explores the importance of self-management and helps you hone these essential skills for practice that employers and clients need, but which aren’t necessarily learnt at law school.

Written by Emma Jones a senior lecturer in law at the University of Sheffield, who began her career as a solicitor in private practice.
