This module gives an introductory overview of GDPR. It looks at when GDPR applies, the meanings of key terms, the rights and obligations established by GDPR, and also examines the consequences that might arise from not complying with GDPR.

Learning outcomes

In this introductory module, we’ll be looking at the following areas:

  • A broad overview of GDPR
  • The meanings of terms used in GDPR
  • When GDPR applies
  • The legal obligations imposed by GDPR
  • The rights for individuals protected by GDPR
  • The possible consequences of a data breach under GDPR
